Team Pōhutukawa Small Businesses and Market Days

For our social studies topic this term we are working in groups to create a small business. The aim of this business is to create a product or service to sell at a school market day later this term. We are learning about the different roles and responsibilities within a successful team. We are looking forward to taking on a specific role and reflecting on our contributions to our team.

The money raised by our businesses will go towards the cost of the school camp. We will be holding two market days in Week 6 and will invite the whole school to come and enjoy our products and services. Look out for the invitations later this term!

Recently, the children in Rooms 21 and 22 have been learning to create digital picture books. These are special books that can be read on computers and other devices. They contain animations, music and sound effects.

The children’s focus has been to rewrite their favourite fairy tale as an online book that they could share with children in the junior school. Here are screenshots of some of the children's work.
